My fashion friend Esther is an evil girl. She runs this blog where she asks the same question over and over again: ” If you were never to see your wardrobe again, but can save three things. What would you save and why?”

There’s one place in Amsterdam where you’ll really really have to go if you like to shop cheap: The IJhallen flea market. (1 euro cardigans, 5 euro shoes!)

For the first time I sold stuff instead of shopping it! With two vintage friends we rented a stall and sold our trash and treasures on this sunny day in june.

The IJhallen market is no secret to vintage lovers, so a lot of lovely looking people came by and bought our stuff.

It’s addictive! So we will do it again in september. (Becouse we have lots and looots more vintage to sell.)

I told you… its addictive!

Last week I went to the Converse You’re Here party in Antwerp with my Amsterdam friends. Loved the atmosphere of cool creative people, wearing vintage (and All Stars).

While I was wearing my new vintage red dress and trying not to sweat, lot’s of fashionado’s decided to wear old-fashioned knitted cardigans and sweaters. A HOT trend amongst hipsters. Even a girl on stage and the DJ’s wore one during their sweaty performances…

”Granny, granny cool…”

Almost time for my bathing suit again! My vintage bathing suit.

But it’s sad… The most of us totally lost their sence of style while running down the beach in tiny strapless string bikini’s from H&M. 

We need that vintage glamour again. Like the girls above.

I like big shoes and I can not lie…

With my size 42 on boots/body size it’s not always easy to find the perfect outfit. Time machine in Amsterdam is one of my lifesavers.

I know that there are many big feeted girls that shop at The Time Machine to find size 41, 42 or even 43! The owner has a row of big shoes on the top shelf so you can easily see if they have something that fits you. (Prices between 20 and 45 euro’s.)

Also you can always call or email the owners if they have new big shoe sizes in stock!

Besides shoes this vintage store has lots of vintage clothes (men & women) and they seem to have a lot of vintage Adidas! I bought a cute three striped bag here myself.

On the other side of the street you’ll find The End, Time Machine’s little sister, with more treasures from the sixties, seventies and eighties.

And that’s a pity, because very often those snapshotters picture me a lot nicer than I do myself!

I got over more than 25 jackets in my closet. From long winter coats to leather jackets and furry ones.

But I have one favorite. For you this may seem like an ordinary
piece of garment. But it aint! No… I’m talking about my super chique, blue-grey, extra warm and elegant vintage coat! (With real fur actually in the collar, sorry guys.)

I got it in my favorite thrift store in Enschede, for only 15 euro’s. Just like one other crazy cool jacket I’m sure of showing you one day.

P.s. I know summer is coming up, but  on a chilly springtime day I still wear it. Mmm…

P.s.2. Do you see what I see? Stopped placing the black beam on top of my head so I can watch my visitors more closely. Better, huh?

It’s almost Koninginnedag! Also known as: Queensday. 

The saddest day in Dutch fashion. Accept for Vintage42! She’s going crazy this year with a little sixties flavour. In our national colour, of course.

O how I love these sunny spring days. It’s the perfect time for sauntering along flea markets! And so I do. A lot.

De Noordermarkt in Amsterdam is my favorite one. You’ll have to get up early on monday morning, but it’s worth it. 

The last time I got here I found some great looking cheap second-hand clothes. Got some boots for 10 euro’s, skirts for 3E, a blazer for 2,50 and a dress for 5! (Of course there sell more expensive antiques too.)

My personal favorite is the guy that marks down his vintage dresses with 50% after 10 o’clock.

Please do: order some apple pie with cream afterwards at Cafe Winkel at the terrace in the sun.

It’s 15 minutes away from Central Station.
You’ll find the market around the Noorderkerk (church) along the Prinsengracht.

In springtime there’s a general need for change. Mine’s looks based. New shoes. New dress. New hair.

Can recommend this change to every living  fashion being. Gives lots of new perspectives to your wardrobe. (And brainwaves too!)

My fresh cut & colour were an expensive investment. So I saved money on the outfit. 18 euro’s! Can you tell?
